Consignor FAQs

  • Consignment is a highly addictive way to earn money and sell your gently used children's items in BULK.

It's also a much less stressful alternative to shopping at garage sales, Ebay or on Facebook Marketplace. Consignors prepare, price and enter their items into an online inventory system at their leisure.

Once tagged, Consignors bring their items to the event and ChickenKidz does the rest. Within 7 days of the event, each consignor will receive a check for a percentage of their items sold.

  • Just register!

You will be assigned your consigner number and can begin entering and tagging your items as soon as you are ready.

  • All consignors automatically earn 65% of their items that sell.

By joining the Chick Squad, you can increase the percentage up to 80% and shop earlier than everyone else.

  • You do!

We offer pricing guidelines but the easiest thing to do when pricing is think about what YOU would pay if you were buying the items.

There is no haggling, so price to sell. The last day of the sale is the optional 75% off Crazy Discount day.

It is up to you to decide if you would like your items to be discounted on that day but we strongly encourage it.

  • Anywhere

Look in your closet. Ask your friends. Save them from Target or Old Navy. Ask your dry cleaner. You can also purchase wire hangers via Craigslist or Ebay.

You may also purchase children's size wire hangers directly from ChickenKidz by contacting susan@chickenkidz.com.

    A lot of 50 hangers costs $8.00.

  • Sorta-kinda. Hangers will not be returned to you but you will receive hangers with your purchases.

  • You have a 300 item limit.

ChickenKidz is all about Quality over Quantity.

  • Simple!

The online system is extremely easy to manage. Entering your inventory is very fast.

The system will create bar coded tags which you can print from your home printer. Simply cut them out and use safety pins or packing tape to attach them to the items.

After registering, you will receive a Consignor Guide that will step you through it. It’s really not rocket science.

  • Absolutely not!

Consignors drop off their items at designated times and return at the end of the sale to pick up their unsold items.

If you choose to have them donated, we’ll get them ready for charity and you can download a donation receipt for tax purposes.

  • Consignors can register for a drop-off appointment through the online system. Drop-offs are scheduled a few days before the sale.

  • You should schedule roughly a half-hour to go through the drop-off process.

Having your items sorted by size and gender will really speed up the process. If you are bringing large items that need assembly, you will need to assemble them at the time of drop off.

  • Repeat after me: "A consignment sale is not a garage sale, a consignment sale is not a garage sale …"

Please don't be offended if we ask you to take back any of your items.

ChickenKidz prides itself on the quality of items offered and we will not accept any items that are stained, ripped, broken, outdated or incomplete.

Many of our consignors are also our biggest shoppers and if you want to buy great items at a great price, you need to pay it forward and bring great items. And that's the formula for having a great sale. Simple as that.

  • Consignors may take back any items that don't sell. If you do not want to take back your items, ChickenKidz will donate them on your behalf to a local charity.

All items not picked up by the designated time will be donated. This is strictly enforced.

That being said, if you price your items right, you shouldn't have much to pick up or donate anyway.

  • Absolutely not. We will have your items sorted for you and ready to go.

  • Each night, after the sales have been downloaded, you may check your account to what sold during the day. So.much.fun!

  • Worth it?!?! You bet!

Every Consignor is given one Presale pass to the sale and you will be among the first to check out the goods before the public.

Think about it – if you’re in the market for toys, a stroller, boys clothes in a size 5T, anything at all, you'll have first crack at the biggest selection at the best prices.

This is a major perk of being a Consignor.
